Law enforcement officers are working to recover a body reported floating in the Vermilion River on the south side of Lafayette.
Lafayette Police, with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Marine Unit, are attempting to recover the body now. The Lafayette Police Department will handle the investigation.
Acadian Ambulance dispatchers say the original report came from the 500 block of Winthorpe Row, south of the Lafayette Parish Southside Library off Johnston Street.
