A new study looked at 14 different types of chips and snacks like Cheetos, to find out which brand has the best chip-to-air ratio. The Big Morning Show thinks that Cheetos falls in the ‘chip’ category, but hey, what do we know! Overall, the study found the average bag of chips is 43% air.
Fritos have the best ratio, only 19% of the bag is air. Here are the 14 brands in the study—–
Pringles, 28% air
Tostitos, 34%
Baked Lays, 39%
Sun Chips, 41%
Regular Lays, 41%
Popchips, 45%
Kettle Brand chips, 47%
Doritos, 48%
Ruffles, also 50%
Cheetos with 59% air.
Positive news from the study, we might be getting more chips than we used to. A 2015 study found the average bag was 70% air, which is 27% more than the new study found.

Renee from ‘The BIG Morning Show’ brought in a bag of chips to snack on, so they did their very own air test. For what it’s worth, Chris thinks it’s about 50% air to chip ratio. The BIG Morning Show also talked about the price of chips these days and for the record, Brookshire’s Tortilla Chips are only $1.98!
