Despite multiple title defenses by the “Champ-Champ,” Daniel Cormier, the UFC announced plans to strip him of the Light-Heavyweight title so that John Jones and Alexander Gustafson can fight for the belt at the next UFC pay-per-view.
Cormier will still remain the Heavyweight champion, but the UFC demands more action in both weight divisions that D.C. reigns as champ. UFC 232 is scheduled for December 30th. The event was moved from Las Vegas to Inglewood, California when Jones tested positive for a banned substance and the Nevada State Athletic Commission refused to allow Jones to compete.
