Lafayette Consolidated Government has announced it’s garbage collection and the Lafayette Transit System schedule for the Mardi Gras holiday.

Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Department of Public Works Transit Division reminds transit system riders that due to the official Mardi Gras holiday on March 5, 2019, Lafayette Transit System (LTS) will not provide service; including Daytime, Night Owl, and Para-transit. However, Para-transit service approved riders will be able to schedule rides. The Transit Business Offices will also be closed on March 5 in observance of the Mardi Gras holiday.
Regular scheduled transit services will resume on Wednesday, March 6, 2019.

No Change to Garbage & Recycling Service on Mardi Gras Day
Lafayette Consolidated Government reminds that there will be no changes to the residential waste collection schedule due to the Mardi Gras holiday in Lafayette Parish.
Republic Services will run their regular residential garbage and recycling collection routes on Mardi Gras day, Tuesday, March 5, 2019. There will be no changes for residential service in Lafayette Parish the entire week of the Mardi Gras holiday. Tuesday garbage and recycling customers should place their waste containers at the curb on Monday evening for collection on Tuesday.
Lafayette Consolidated Government’s Compost Facility at 400 Dugas Rd., located off N. University Ave., will be closed on Tuesday in observation of the Mardi Gras holiday. The facility will reopen at 7 a.m. on Wednesday.
