The smell of ‘delicious’ smoke will be back this weekend in Ville Platte!! The Smoked Meat Festival began in 1992 dedicated to the local chapter of the Vietnam Veterans Association and today honors all Military Veterans.
The Smoked Meat Festival festivities happen at the Ville Platte North-side Civic Center and Pavilion. Viande Boucanne’ invites everyone to take part in the two day celebration of Culture, Cuisine and Heroes!
Enjoy delicious food, live music, and a great time on both Friday and Saturday night. On Saturday morning, the “Smoked Meat World Championship Cook Off” is held followed by the Opening Ceremony, honoring our Veterans at 12:00 noon.
Gates open at 4:00 today, followed by music from One Trick Pony at 7:00, then Clay Cormier and the Highway boys at 10:00.
Gates open back up again at 8 am Saturday morning with the cookoff, ceremonies, and live music from Todd Knighten at 6pm, Ashton Dupre at 8pm and Side Show at 10pm.
Admission is $ 5.00, ID’s Required, No Ice Chests Please!
