15-year-old Terrance Allen, a football player for Amite High School passed away Tuesday after practice.
The Amite Police Department received an emergency call around 9 p.m on Tuesday.
The fire department and Acadian Ambulance personnel arrived and administered CPR to Terrance. Paramedics were able to get a pulse and rushed the teen to the hospital, but died before he arrived.
Police say the team finished football practice and that Terrance was joking in the locker room before falling to the ground.
Police also said the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office will perform an autopsy this (Thursday) morning.
Allen was a defensive tackle for the Amite High Warriors, stood nearly six feet tall and weighed about 250 pounds.
