In a late game last night at Alex Box Stadium-Skip Bertman Field, the 13th ranked LSU Tigers topped Southern Miss 6-4.
The Tigers got the W with help of Josh Smith as he drove in 3 runs with a home run and a triple!
The win earned the Tigers it’s 24th NCAA Regional title and it’ s 14th Super Regional berth since 1999.
“What a great victory for our team,” said LSU coach Paul Mainieri. “I am just so happy for our team. It was a total team effort. We had some real heroes tonight that stepped up and did some extraordinary stuff.
Next weekend, LSU will host Florida State in a best of 3 series, beginning either Friday or Saturday.
