As we keep up with the potential development of Invest 92 (Barry?), it’s almost impossible not to notice how far weather forecasting has come. This system was identified while over Tennessee, and computers and meteorologists were able to correctly see that it would make its way into the Gulf. Wow!
Let’s flashback 34 years. It was 1985 and Hurricane Elena was in the Gulf. No spaghetti models. No Jim Cantore. Just a landline phone and a really old school set of weather tools.
