TESLA has unveiled it’s new ‘Cybertruck’ electric vehicle.
TESLA CEO Elon Musk took to the stage and introduced the angular, tank-like truck. The presentation was aimed at showing off the truck’s toughness. In the demonstration, the rugged utility vehicle was hit with a hammer, ball bearings, and even a gunshot.
A test of the new TESLA Armor Glass didn’t go so well. Musk admitted the glass didn’t break or shatter during the previous testing.
The Cybertruck is priced as low as $39,900 and can do 0-60 in about 2.9-seconds and it can tow 14,000 lbs. Depending on the setup, the truck will have 3-different battery ranges, 250+, 300, or 500+ miles per charge. In a promotional video, the Cybertruck can be seen beating a Porsche 911 off the line and beating a Ford F-150 in a tug of war.
The model under $40,000 will feature rear-wheel drive, a single motor, and 250+ miles of range. More expensive models feature more motors and longer range. Self-driving features are a $7,000 additional option. Production will begin in late 2021.
