Tropical Storm Marco has now been declared Hurricane Marco.
As of 1 pm, Marco currently has sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving to the NNW at 14 mph. /h3>
It is located 440 miles SE of Lafayette.
A Hurricane Watch is in effect for Vermilion, Iberia, and St. Mary Parishes, and a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect for areas east of I-49 including Lafayette Parish.
In the coming days, we will also be closely monitoring Tropical Storm Laura as it is expected to reach the Gulf of Mexico.
