KFC has launched its new chicken sandwich which is clearly inspired by Popeyes.
KFC has finally joined in the Great Chicken Sandwich War, which went viral in 2019 when people online began arguing over which fast food restaurant had the best chicken sandwich.
The “war” started when Popeyes unveiled its new chicken sandwich that many believed was better than Chick-fil-A‘s. Many other restaurants had honorable mentions, but it was Popeyes and Chick-fil-A’s sandwiches that remained at the heart of the discussion.
After publically admitting that their chicken sandwich couldn’t compete, KFC began formulating a new sandwich in 2019. And after about a year and a half later, it’s finally here!
The new KFC Chicken sandwich consists of “a quarter-pound, extra crispy breast filet on a brioche bun with pickles and sauce” and bears an undeniable resemblance to Popeyes’ chicken sandwich in looks, ingredients, and construction.
The new KFC Chicken Sandwich will be available nationwide at all KFC restaurants by the end of February.
