Taylor Swift concert causes seismic activity at Lumen Field

This past weekend, Seattle’s Lumen Field was the site of seismic activity, but not from the usual source. Instead of Marshawn Lynch’s legendary “Beast Quake” touchdown run in 2011, it was Taylor Swift’s concert that caused the equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake. According to seismologist Jackie Caplan-Auerbach, the concert was louder than the “Beast Quake” by a magnitude of 0.3. The concert lasted for 10 hours and the energy from the music and speakers caused the ground to shake. The “Beast Quake” occurred in the 2011 NFC Wild Card round when Lynch broke nearly 10 tackles on a 67-yard touchdown run. It looks like Swift has taken the title of loudest event at Lumen Field.
