David McCallum, best known for his role as Illya Kuryakin in the 1960s TV series The Man from U.N.C.L.E., has passed away at the age of 93. McCallum was born in Glasgow to classical musicians and initially pursued a career in music before finding work as an actor. He received several Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for his role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and went on to appear in films such as The Great Escape, The Greatest Story Ever Told and A Night to Remember. He also guest starred on TV series Perry Mason and The Outer Limits, and had a role in the BBC’s Colditz. McCallum was also known for his role on NCIS, which he landed after appearing in the show JAG. He also found work as a voice actor for children’s cartoons and video games. His death was said to have been due to natural causes.
