Jimmy Buffett’s posthumous studio album, Equal Strain On All Parts, is set to be released on November 3 via Mailboat Records and distributed by Sun Records. The album features collaborations with Paul McCartney, Emmylou Harris, Lennie Gallant, Angelique Kidjo, and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band. The title of the album is inspired by Buffett’s grandfather’s description of a good nap. The lead single, “My Gummie Just Kicked In,” was written after a dinner party with McCartney and his wife, Nancy Shevell. McCartney praised the album, saying that the song “Bubbles Up” was one of the best he had ever heard Buffett sing. Equal Strain On All Parts is Buffett’s first studio album since 2020 and marks the continuation of his musical legacy.
