Wednesday, October 11th from 5-6 at the West Regional Library it is Second Chance Costumes where you can browse gently-used Halloween costumes (while supplies last), and make a spooky craft. Have costumes you want to give away? Drop them off at the Main or Regional Libraries throughout September. Ages 0 – 12. www.lafayettepubliclibrary.org

October 13 – No-Sew Stuffed Pumpkins – Teens can create stuffed pumpkins using beautiful fall fabrics with absolutely no sewing required! Registration required. Iberia Parish Library –Parkview Branch – 4:00 PM – Ages 11-14. (337) 364-7480 www.iberialibrary.org

St. Barnabas will be selling pumpkins and gourds of all shapes, sizes, and colors at the 3rd annual Pumpkin Patch October 13-31st Weekdays, 4pm-7pm and Weekends, 9am-4pm. We will have multiple photo op areas set up for families each day that the patch is open. We will have concessions, face painting, professional photographers, and vendor fairs on Saturdays and Sundays, October 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29 featuring a variety of goods from local artists, vendors, and business owners.  This fundraiser will benefit all Youth Ministries at St. Barnabas Episcopal. Admission is free! Pumpkins range in price from $1-$50, depending on size. Concessions and vendor prices vary. We recommend that families bring a wagon, wheelbarrow, or something similar to help transport pumpkins from the patch to your vehicles.

Saturday, October 14thAutism Society Acadiana Trunk or Treat from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at ASA Parking Lot 3108 W. Pinhook, with family fun, photo booth and costumes designed for persons with unique needs.

Saturday, October 14th It is the Solar Eclipse Viewing at the Main Branch of the LPL 2023 annular eclipse to pick up a free pair of protective glasses, while supplies last, to safely view this stellar phenomenon! The eclipse begins at 10:30 am and will peak just before noon. All Ages. www.lafayettepubliclibrary.org

October 14th – Skull Painting – paint & create then bring home your spooky décor at the Lafayette Main Library from 2-3 p.m. for ages 12 to 18. www.lafayettepubliclibrary.org

The pumpkins are coming! Sunday, Oct. 15, until Oct. 31st, Epiphany Opelousas presents a pumpkin patch weekends 12-6 p.m. and weekdays 2-6 p.m.

Friday, October 20th it is Murder in the Stacks After Hours II: The Return of the Murderer! OH NO! The serial killer has escaped and has returned to wreak vengeance upon the crew of teens and their friends that put him away! Saturday, October 21st – Boo Bayou Fall Family Fest at Vermilionville- from 10 to 3 celebrate Halloween with arts and crafts, face painting, balloon animals, old time games, fun fall movies and trick or treating. Admission is $5. www.bayouvermiliondistrict.org

Saturday, October 21st – Terror on on the Teche -Families will have a frighteningly-fun time with a special Halloween storytime at the Iberia Parish Library-Main Branch from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged and treat bags will be provided to children while supplies last. Bring your own chairs/blankets for seating at this free event. Snacks allowed, but no ice chests. www.iberialibrary.org

Boo Bayou is back at Vermilionville for a fun fall festival for the family Saturday, October 21st from 10-3 with old-time games, face painting, coloring station and trick-or-treating throughout our historic village also great kid-friendly spooooky films in the Performance Center, with a fresh bag of popcorn. Costumes encouraged. Admission is $5 for ages 2 and older.

Saturday, October 21st – Trunk-or-Treat at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church parking lot! Giving children a safe and friendly place to Trick-or-Treat! The event will take place in the rear of the church’s parking lot from 5-6:30 p.m. All are invited to attend. WWW.ihmchurchlafayette.com

Monday, October 23rd ages 18 and up can make a Spooky Mosaic Candle Holder – Create a faux stained glass candle holder with a spooky design using tissue paper and a mason jar from 1:30-3:00 p.m. at the Main Library branch of the LPL. Registration is required. www.lafayettepubliclibrary.org

Thursday, October 26thService Chevrolet Cadillac will host a unique and safe Trunk or Treat event for families in the dealership showroom on October 26th, 2023, from 5:30 to 7:00 PM with treats, photos and costume parade.

2023 Halloween Art & Nature Festival will be Saturday, October 28, from 10:00 AM  4:00 PM** REGISTRATION REQUIRED. The event is FREE but SPACE IS LIMITED ** Atelier de la Nature, a twenty-five-acre nature reserve and eco-educational campus, invites all children and families to the 2023 Halloween Art & Nature Festival, a one-day free event to celebrate Halloween, Louisiana’s special natural surroundings, the Gulf of Mexico and planet Earth, through art, music, food and science. This year’s festival theme is “The Deep” (deep sea life, deep roots both cultural and botanical, deep time, deep traditions, and more).

October 28thAutumn in the Oaks at Moncus Park – 3 – 6 p.m. with hayrides, face painting, pumpkin bowling, games, children’s dance party, entertainment, and more free activities. Food will be available to purchase. Please bring donations to benefit Love Our Schools. $20 onsite parking fundraiser with free parking at Blackham with free shuttles.

Oct. 28th – New Iberia Halloween Parade and Fais-Do-Do – Join the City of New Iberia in front of city hall when they color the fountain black at 4 p.m. before parading down Main Street for Halloween. Parade will begin at Prairie St. and end at Railroad St. Live entertainment by The Chee-Weez at Bouligny Plaza (102 W. Main St.) at 6 p.m. New Iberia City Hall, 457 E. October 28th – RescYou Group Trunk or Treat – 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Activities will include music, food, face painting, games, and trunk decorating contest! October 28th – 6-8pm – Downtown Carencro – The 2nd annual Crow Fest in Downtown Carencro is looking for hosts for trick or treat spots to hand out candy or prizes and/or set up a game booth to ensure children will have a safe trick or treat experience.

October 28th – The Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce Pumpkin Patch will be held 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The patch will be located at Veteran’s Park in Breaux Bridge and will offer arts and crafts, face painting, food, vendors, and a wide selection of pumpkins. Veteran’s Park 222 Berard St. in Breaux Bridge.

Sunday, October 29thTrick or Treat Trail at South Park, Opelousas. 4-6 pm. This free event aims to provide the community with an alternative to traditional door to door trick-or-treating. The event is designed for kids ages 12 and under.

City of Scott presents Halloween in Scott at the Begnaud House Sunday, October 29th from 2-4 p.m.

Tuesday, October 31st – Junior Auxiliary of Vermilion presents 𝗝𝗮𝗰𝗸-𝗢-𝗟𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗝𝘂𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲 with a 𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟒:𝟑𝟎-𝟓:𝟑𝟎 𝐩𝐦 and 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐫-𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟔-𝟖 𝐩𝐦 and most festive booth contest, pumpkin decorating & crafts.
