A TikToker known as “Kala the Science Girl” has been ordered to stop digging an underground network beneath her home in northern Virginia. Kala has gained over 500,000 followers on TikTok by documenting the process of building an underground shelter. However, last month she received a stop work order after complaints were made to officials. Local officials have confirmed that they conducted a site inspection and are working with Kala to ensure the property is safe and in compliance with code. Kala is confident that the permit will be approved for her to continue working on the project.
