Apple Inc. has extended the deadline for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users to claim a portion of the $35 million settlement fund resulting from a class-action lawsuit over audio issues. The new deadline for users to claim a payment from the fund has been pushed to July 3, 2023. The lawsuit, filed in 2019, addressed alleged audio problems related to the “audio IC” chip in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus devices used between September 16, 2016, and January 3, 2023. Users eligible for compensation have been notified by the Settlement Administrator and must provide their preferred payment method by the deadline to receive compensation. Apple has denied any wrongdoing and disputes the claims made in the lawsuit.
