Visa plans to launch a dedicated service for account-to-account payments in Europe next year, allowing users to set up direct debits on e-commerce stores with ease. The service aims to provide consumers with better control over their payments and protection against unauthorized transactions. Initially launching in the U.K. in early 2025, the service will expand to other European regions later in the year. Leveraging open banking technology, Visa’s A2A product aims to modernize payment methods and offer consumers more flexibility and security in managing recurring payments.
