YouTube is set to enhance its Shorts feature with the introduction of Google’s Veo, an AI model developed by DeepMind. The new capability will provide users with advanced tools for creating dynamic video backgrounds and brief six-second videos. Showcased at Google’s I/O 2024 developer event, the Veo model aims to rival other AI models by enabling the creation of 1080p videos in diverse cinematic formats. The addition of Veo will bolster YouTube’s existing “Dream Screen” feature, allowing for more intricate editing and remixing to produce striking visual content. YouTube is also launching updates like “Jewels” and gifts, expanding language offerings for automatic dubbing, and introducing AI-powered tools in YouTube Studio to assist creators in content creation.
