A rare copy of the U.S. Constitution, printed 237 years ago and believed to be the only one in private hands, is up for auction in North Carolina with a minimum bid of $1 million. The copy, one of about 100 printed by Charles Thomson, was found in a property once owned by North Carolina Governor Samuel Johnston. The document includes a letter from George Washington urging ratification. The auction also features other historical items, including a first draft of the Articles of Confederation. The auction was delayed due to Hurricane Helene.
