Starting next week, Starbucks customers will no longer be charged extra for adding non-dairy milk to their orders, resulting in a 10% cost reduction for those who request it. This change comes as non-dairy milk substitutions have become increasingly popular at Starbucks, with oat milk being added to the menu in 2021. The move is part of CEO Brian Niccol’s efforts to revamp the struggling company, which has seen declining sales and customer visits. Starbucks is also scaling back promotional offers and eliminating olive oil-infused drinks from the menu, while planning to reintroduce self-serve condiment stations and handwritten customer names on drink orders to enhance the coffeehouse experience.
