The recordings, titled “Last Sundays in Plains: A Centennial Celebration,” feature musicians Darius Rucker, Lee Ann Rimes, and Jon Batiste. This marks Carter’s fourth Grammy win, with his grandson Jason Carter accepting the award on his behalf. Carter’s win in the narration category beat out other nominees like Barbra Streisand and George Clinton. If Streisand had won, it would have been her first Grammy in 38 years.
