Jessica Simpson made an emotional return to the stage after 15 years, thanking the audience for embracing her as she performed at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas. The singer debuted four new songs, including “Use My Heart Against Me” and “Leave”, possibly inspired by her recent separation from husband Eric Johnson. Simpson also sang covers of “Son of a Preacher Man” and “These Boots are Made for Walking” during her lively set. She expressed gratitude to her fans on social media, hinting at more to come from her music comeback with the release of her EP, Nashville Canyon: Part 1, on 21 March.
