OPELOUSAS ARTIST ROUNDUP MONDAY MAY 6
Come to the museum 5 to 7 p.m. to meet other visual, media, literary and performing artists.
Artist Round Up is an opportunity for creatives of all disciplines to come together in a space to meet like-minded creatives who they could collaborate with, talk to, find inspiration from and just generally hang out with. This is a free event hosted by AcA’s Creative Acadiana workshop series.
TALENTED AND GIFTED ART EXHIBIT FRIDAY, MAY 10
The Opelousas Museum proudly showcases artworks by youth of The Talented Arts Program of St. Landry Parish from 4—5:30 p.m.
The Talented Arts Program is an educational curriculum for students identified as talented in visual arts and enrolled in the St. Landry Parish Public School System. It is available at every public school in grades 1st through 6th.
The exhibit will include original paintings, sculpture, drawings, photos and collages by approximately 75 students. The art show was coordinated by Jerome Ford and Heather Wallace who are educators for the St. Landry Parish Talented Arts Program.
The reception is hosted by the Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center; each student will receive an award.
