The 2018 Fall Classic State Competition will host softball, horseshoes and aquatics events for over 500 Special Olympics Louisiana athletes who qualified during various local and area competitions.
Date: Saturday, October 20 – Sunday, October 21
Time: 9:00 am. on Saturday until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday
Location: Aquatics will be held at the Robicheaux Center (1919 Eraste Landry Road, Lafayette, LA 70506) Horseshoes and Softball will be held at Pelican Park (110 Softball Drive, Carencro, LA 70520) Victory Bash will be held at Pelican Park (110 Softball Drive, Carencro, LA 70520)
There will be lots of entertainment during the weekend and we encourage all community members, family and media to attend.
This year’s competition will feature horseshoes, aquatics, and unified softball teams where each team is made up of those with and without intellectual disabilities competing together. On Saturday, we will offer the Healthy Athletes disciplines: Pelican Park- Strong Minds & Health Promotion and at the Robicheaux Center- Special Smiles & Healthy Hearing. All medical, vision, and dental professionals are invited to view. Saturday will end with closing ceremonies at Pelican Park beginning at 7 p.m. Following closing ceremonies there will be a dance and a Home Run Derby with Special Olympics Athletes and local law enforcement officers. All sporting competitions, as well as the closing ceremony, are free and open to the public. Come dive in to SOLA and cheer on our athletes!
