March 3, 2019, St. Martinville’s 2nd Annual Newcomers Mardi Gras Festival
St. Martinville’s Newcomers Second Annual Mardi Gras Festival on the Festival grounds near the Bayou Teche (corner of No. New Market St. and E. Madison St.) on March 3, 2019 from 10am to 9pm!
Enjoy music, local dancing groups, food and craft vendors, a shoe box float making workshop, along with a children and adult Mardi Gras costume contest in the St. Martinville Mardi Gras fashion from noon to 9 pm.
St. Martinville Tourism and St. Martin Parish Library team up to offer shoe box float decorating from 10am – noon for children and adults. A contest for individual or family creations along with a parade of the floats follows at noon.
The Untouchable Dance Group performs at 1:30pm, and the Twirling Divas at 2:30pm.
Enjoy the music of Kami Cole and The Jam from 3 – 5 pm, followed by Leon Chavis and the Zydeco Flames from 5:30 – 8:30 pm.

The Shoe Box Float activities are free to participants between 10am and noon. Entrance to the Festival is free for ages 0-3, $1 for ages 4-12 and $5 for everyone over 13.
The Newcomers Club is a service organization that has been around for over 60 years. Initially started to teach comportment to young ladies entering beauty pageants, they continue to support children and families through scholarships and assistance to victims of fire, among other community activities.
