The Diocese of Lafayette Centennial Closing Mass tonight (Wednesday, December 12) at the Cajundome Convention Center. Doors to the Convention Center will open at 4:30 p.m. so those attending can browse a collection of historical artifacts from the Diocesan Archives, chronicling our first 100 years. Mass will begin at 6 p.m. with a reception to follow immediately after.
Special seating is available for the disabled, and a sign language interpreter will be on hand for those who are hearing-impaired. The Mass will honor the many cultures and nationalities that have shaped our Diocese through the years, and will also honor December 12 as the Feast Day of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The Intercessions (Prayers of the Faithful) will be read in all of the languages spoken in our Diocese over the past century.
