The 705 meeting at the Lafayette Community Musical Instrument Library

Join The 705 for their monthly membership meeting at the Lafayette Community Musical Instrument Library (Lafayette Community M.I.Brary), the South’s only library where you can check out musical instruments with a library card! Founder and the705 Board Member Dr. Ryan Cazares will present on the concept and will show you the various instruments you can check out from the M.I.Brary. You’ll then be able to try them for yourself with a mini lesson from on-hand musicians!

Kate Durio with CREATE Lafayette will talk about the CREATE initiative and its future implications for the city and parish. Understanding the importance of our cultural economy, Mayor-President Joel Robideaux unveiled CREATE to celebrate, support and grow the Lafayette Parish creative community as a lead economic driver.

Chubby Carrier of Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band Official Site, Grammy Award-winning Zydeco musician, and Anya Burgess, owner of Sola Violins, will talk about the importance of music in their lives and in the city of Lafayette.

The Lafayette Community M.I.Brary is located inside the Clifton Chenier branch of the Lafayette Public Library at 220 West Willow Street, Lafayette, LA.
