Professional trainer and founder of the Ragin’ Cajun Boxing Club, Beau Williford, has died at the age of 69 after a battle with lung cancer.
Williford was a native of North Carolina, where he won the Golden Gloves championship in 1964. He competed as a pro for about 10-years before training fighters and opening up the Ragin’ Cajun Boxing Club in the 1980s. Williford once sparred with Muhammad Ali.
Aimee Williford shared a humorous quote from Beau, which appears in “The Book of Boxing Quotations” by Harry Mullan.
