Carencro Community to Honor Graduates with Parade

The Carencro Community is invited to honor the 2020 graduates of Carencro High School with a parade from high school to the Carencro Community Center on Saturday, May 23rd.

A post on Facebook shared a flyer with instructions regarding the parade that will roll at two o’clock in the afternoon. Restrictions will be in place that makes it possible for One Senior and one driver to be in each vehicle. Line up will begin at one o’clock at the school. All students and drivers will be asked to remain in their vehicles at the lineup. The Carencro Police Department will lead the parade and control the pace along with securing the end of the parade.

Due to restrictions still in place with Phase One reopening seniors are asked to disburse from the community center at the end of the parade. Seniors are encouraged to dress in their cap and gowns. Honking and celebrating throughout the parade is encouraged.

The public is invited to watch the parade using social distancing guidelines along the parade route but there will be no throws to the crowd, wearing a mask is encouraged as well, there will be no stopping during the parade for any reason.

The organizers of the parade are aking for all to heed the rules set fourth by the Louisiana Governor, Carencro Chief of Police, and the Principal of Carencro High School.
