Words for You is a project of commissioned poems, stories and songs. Each festival supporter has the opportunity to commission an original work by a favorite author! The completed piece will be given to the patron, and all the works will be read aloud at a virtual performance.
The fundraiser will run until August 27. A virtual performance of the new works will take place on September 10.
All donations help support the Festival of Words Mission to inspire literacy and creativity for an underserved community through workshops and performances.
Here is how the process works:
1. Choose an author
2. Make a donation to Festival of Words — see minimums below
3. Respond to a few questions about yourself (or the person the work is for)
DONATIONS:
$50 (minimum) for one original work
$100 (minimum) for a poem by a current or former Poet Laureate**
