In a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, the University of Louisiana announced that Our Lady of Lourdes had made a fifteen million gift to the University for the capital project for the renovation of Cajun Field that upon completion will be known as Cajun Field at Our Lady Of Lourdes Stadium.
Louisiana Football Head Coach Billy Napier called the day a “remarkable day.” University of Louisiana President Savoie alluded to the fitting meaning of the name to a field that has seen miracles in its fifty years. Market president for the Acadiana Region of Our Lady of Lourdes Dr. Kathy Healy-Collier said.
“Our partnership energizes all of our constituents, whether that’s community service, economic investment, or personal health. We’re elevating Acadiana’s regional profile, attracting new students and businesses, and showcasing the Ragin’ Cajun spirit. I call that a prescription for championship health.”
