New Orleans Saints Head Football Coach Sean Payton notified the team that he is retiring from the team.
The news comes a day after the long-time Saints coach told FOX Sports reporter Jay Glazer that he was considering retirement.
NFL reporter Ian Rapoport broke the news on Twitter:

Payton brought the franchise its first and only Super Bowl victory in 2010.
The future for Payton remains unknown. There is speculation that he may coach another team, join a television broadcast, or just ride off into the sunset.
Regardless, Sean Payton will not be coaching the Saints for the 2022 season.
