Hamburger Steak w/ Mushrooms & Onions
1 lb ground beef
cajun seasoning
3 strips of bacon
1/2 cup sliced yellow onion
1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
butter
beef broth
soy sauce
steak sauce (I use Tabasco Caribbean Jerk)
Season ground beef and form "steaks" (you will have between two and four depending on how big you like them). Cook bacon and set aside, then cook "steaks" in bacon drippings and make sure they are done completely.
Remove steaks, reduce heat to low-medium, and add 1 tbsp of butter and melt. Then, add onions and saute for a few minutes before adding the mushrooms. Saute again while adding about 1/4 cup of beef broth, another tbsp of butter, adding a few drops of soy sauce and steak sauce.
Saute for another minute or so. Feel free to add more broth and butter depending on how wet you want your sauce.
This could also be served over mashed potatoes.
