Every Tuesday & Thursday morning inside The ALL NEW Big Morning Show, Chris, Fast & Renee play 'Name That Toot!'

Remember the old game show 'Name That Tune?'  Well, it's sort of like that, but instead of music, we use car honks!

Chris & Fast wager on how many honks it takes for them to name the model vehicle you are driving!

You can win a pass to enjoy a free month of Ultimate Washes from Freedom 10 Minute Oil Change & Car Wash!

Congratulations to Jenny Broussard for being our correct caller!

We can do this together!

The Go Red for Women luncheon continues to serve as the cornerstone event of the Go Red For Women movement in local communities. This empowering event focuses on preventing heart disease and stroke by promoting healthy lifestyles, building awareness and raising critically-needed funds to support research and education initiatives. Cardiovascular diseases, which include stroke, claim the life of a woman about every 80 seconds. The VITA program is just one way United Way of Acadiana is creating financial stability. In the last two years, this program put approximately $9 million back in the hands of hardworking families through free tax preparation assistance. During that period, volunteers assisted thousands of Acadiana residents in filing their taxes, helping them claim approximately $3 million each year of the nearly $30 million in Earned Income Tax Credit that goes unclaimed annually.

IRS Certified Tax Preparers are ready to help you in Acadia, Iberia, Lafayette, St. Landry, St. Martin, St. Mary & Vermilion Parishes.

Lafayette Reads Together (LRT) is a community-wide reading program from the Lafayette Public Library, the Lafayette Parish School System and many local organizations to get the community reading, sharing and discussing the same book. Free copies of the book will be available at all library branches, donated by the Lafayette Public Library Foundation, beginning Monday, January 14.

This year’s selected book is Finding Gobi by Dion Leonard. Ultramarathon runner and author Dion Leonard competed in the Gobi March, a grueling 250 kilometer race through China’s Gobi Desert. On the second stage of the marathon, he noticed a stray dog following him. Lafayette Reads Together celebrates its fifth anniversary in a big way – with the heartwarming tale about a little lost dog and the seasoned runner who saved her.

Join us for An Evening with Author Dion Leonard on Tuesday, January 29 at the Main Library (6:15 – 7:30 pm). He will talk about his journey in Finding Gobi while running an ultramarathon in the Gobi Desert. Along the way, he discovered many things about himself and China. A book signing will follow.

Take part in one of the Finding Gobi book discussions. Our special guest is Christine Duay, LPSS Director of Early Childhood. She will bring along her service dog, Willow. The book discussions will take place on Monday, February 11 at the Main Library (6:30 – 7:30 pm) and Monday, February 18 at the South Regional Library (6:30 – 7:30 pm).

Library programs now through March 16 will include film showings, presentations, programs for teens and children and more! Businesses and groups can also join this effort, simply by agreeing to have members read the book, and distributing books to employees or hosting programs. Be sure to visit LafayettePublicLibrary.org for more Lafayette Reads Together programs.

Lafayette Reads Together is sponsored by the Lafayette Public Library Foundation. Community partners include the Lafayette Public Library System, Lafayette Parish School System, Lafayette Consolidated Government, Lafayette Utilities System, LUS Fiber, BBR Creative, Acadiana Center for the Arts, Asian Chamber of Commerce of Acadiana, Healthy Acadiana and AOC Community Media.
