Arbor Day Workshop at Acadiana Park

Come out to celebrate Louisiana’s Arbor Day. Workshop will be held at Acadiana Park and will be led by TreesAcadiana as part of their annual programming.

8:30 AM –Registration and coffee
9 AM –Brief overview of the day’s activities, door prizes
9:15 AM—12 PM Activities include: Planting of 60 trees around newly installed walking path, free educational games and materials from our partners. Participants interested in complimentary plants and signage must complete a brief survey.

***Bring a water bottle, coffee cup, and shovel. Bring a friend along too!***

THIRD in a series of eight workshops with local conservations groups. Workshop participants have an opportunity to learn about stormwater management and resiliency through native plantings, have an opportunity to plant trees, and receive advice and complimentary plants from local conservation experts.

Resilient native landscapes are characterized by their ability to withstand regional hydrologic conditions, foster stormwater management, improve surface water quality, and provide a high wildlife value.
This event is free to the public and is sponsored through a grant from the HDR Foundation.
