Gather your friends, your canoe, your cooler, your fiddle, your best costumes, your dog, whatever, and get ready to celebrate the Bayou Vermilion September 30th from 11-5p!
The parade will set sail at 11:30 AM from the dock at Vermilionville, and wind all along the bayou to Southside Park. At the park, we’ll have food and drinks, games, and music!
This year’s parade “sets sail” at 11:30 a.m. from Vermilionville with a celebratory toast by this year’s Grand Marshal! The parade, serenaded by the New Natives Brass Band, proceeds 10.6 miles down river to BVD’s Southside Park. If you prefer a shorter journey, you can join the parade beginning at Camellia Boulevard canoe and kayak launch and end at Southside Park, which is 5.0 miles.
The Bayou Vermilion Mini-Fest at Southside Park begins at 4 PM, with music from Ask for Ashley PLUS food by La Cuisine de Maman, beverages, and beer.
Want to paddle but have no boat? The BVD has got you covered, we’ve got canoes and kayaks available to help you get in the water and experience our own Bayou Vermilion!
