The Creole Farmers’ Market of St. Martinville invites you to join them on February 8 and 9, 2019 for the Cornucopia Ball, their annual Children’s Carnival, at the Cade Community Center on Smede Hwy. The theme this year is “Everything Country”.
Every year the committee chooses an eighth grade king and queen, debutantes and dukes, along with children ages pre-k to seventh grade to portray the theme’s characters. Past themes have included Nursery Rhymes, Fairies, the Renaissance, Under the big top, That’s Entertainment, Evolution of Music and Time Travel, just to name a few. Every year a theme is chosen and the script is written to support the theme.
The event will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 8 and 9, respectively, at the Cade Community Center, Smede Hwy. The Friday, February 8th performance is the dress rehearsal and it begins at 7:00pm with admission being $10.00 per person, $5 for children 12 and under. The actual ball will take place on Saturday, February 9th at 7pm and admission is $15.00 per person.
Tables for groups of 8 are still available for Saturday night for $125. There will be extra open seating that night, as well. On Saturday night a DJ will play until 11pm for the children and their parents to enjoy. This is a non-alcoholic event. Refreshments will be sold by Creole Farmer’s Market Committee.
