January is National Blood Donor Month and Acadiana’s first responders are calling on you to donate blood. The month of January is one of the most difficult times of year to collect enough blood to meet the needs of communities due to inclement weather and cold and flu season, but you can help.
Acadiana’s first responders are uniting again for a friendly blood drive competition! Last year’s first responder groups who won for the most blood donor participants were the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Department and Iberia Parish Police Department. Show your support for your favorite first responder group and donate in their honor.
Donate on one of the following days at the Vitalant donation center, 1503 Bertrand Drive in Lafayette, to show your support and transform lives:
Wednesday, January 8 from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Thursday, January 9 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Friday, January 10 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Donors will receive an Awesome Donor T-Shirt. Food will also be served on all three days from Meche’s Donuts, Zeas, McAlister’s and Chick-fil-A.
Schedule your appointment to donate at vitalant.org or call 877-25VITAL.
