Registration continues for new French-immersion school in Sunset
Starting this fall, St. Landry parents will have a new option for education. As with all public schools, the new public charter school, École St. Landry, will be free of charge to admitted students and transportation will be available for all students.
Any students who apply from this point forward will be granted entry on a first come, first serve basis until École St. Landry is at 100% capacity.
Students need no prior knowledge of French to apply.
École St. Landry, a public charter school will launch in August for the 2021-2022 school year with capacity for 48 kindergarten students and 48 first grade St. Landry Parish students. During the initial application period that closed March 31, 32 kinder students and 26 first graders applied — which means École St. Landry still has room to receive 16 additional applications from kinder students and 22 additional applications from first graders.
