The Lafayette Parks and Recreation Fun and Fitness program is back after the COVID-19 pandemic shut it down in March. Fun and Fitness gives those 50 and over and adults with disabilities the opportunity to get moving again with sit-down exercises to music while accommodating all levels of functioning.
Therapeutic Recreation Supervisor Denise Ferguson said with Louisiana in Phase 3, more people are allowed in the building, and she assures participants safety protocols will be followed. When entering the building, everyone must wear a mask, however masks are not required while exercising as everyone will be socially distanced.
Fun and Fitness is held every Monday and Wednesday from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. at the Girard Park Recreation Center, 500 Girard Park Drive. The class is also available live on the Lafayette Parks and Recreation Facebook page.
