The community is invited to experience the simple warmth and beauty of Christmas past at Vermilionville Living History Museum and Folklife Park. Regular admission applies.
But, wait! The fun does not end there. There is more to do on one special day in December.
On Saturday, December 15th, the annual Old Time Christmas Family Day Celebration will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until 4:00 p.m. with lots more to offer. The village will be filled with great learning opportunities, live music, delicious food, Native American storytelling, arts & crafts, and self-guided tours. In fact, Papa Noël (the French Santa Claus) will be here and kids will be able to write letters to him sealed with wax. Our artisans will demonstrate several holiday happenings from 1765-1890 such as how to make candles, soap, Victorian paper ornaments, citrus pomanders and more. There will also be discussions about traditional decorations, gift giving and the Réveillon. Also, we will have a reading of The Night Before Christmas each half hour. Admission is $5 for those 4 and older.
