There’s only one thing Louisiana loves more than boudin, and that’s cracklins!
The Cracklin Festival in Port Barre is November 10-13th, the second weekend in November every year. Ice chests, glass containers, and pets are not allowed. Children 10 and under get into the festival grounds for free.
There’s more than just cracklins at this event. The festival also features a full carnival for kids, children’s games, a beauty pageant, and live Cajun, zydeco, and swamp pop music bands. The festival is a major fundraiser for the Port Barre Lions Club.
