As a component of PlanLafayette Week, Project Front Yard will host the third Project Front Yard Summit on Wednesday, October 31, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Lafayette Economic Development Authority (LEDA).
The half-day event is intended to bring businesses, civic organizations and individuals together to address community beautification and encourage volunteerism. The Summit will feature an overview of Ouachita Green, a beautification organization created by the Ouachita Green Alliance. The Summit will also focus on projects and initiatives that teach the essentials of Keep America Beautiful’s Behavior Change System and encourage community and business citizenship, responsibility and action.
During the week of Oct. 29, Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) will host PlanLafayette Week. 2018 marks the fourth iteration of the week-long series of events focused on Lafayette’s Comprehensive Plan, which has been in effect since 2014.
Thanks to the support of generous partners, all activities will be free of charge, although some events require registration and/or RSVP to ensure adequate space. All events will be posted on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lafayettecomprehensiveplan.
The first PlanLafayette Week was held in 2014 and originally conceived to introduce Lafayette to the ideas and action items recommended in the draft comprehensive plan. Since the plan’s adoption, it has become an event series where plan successes are celebrated and new initiatives are launched.
