Southern Screen Calls for Film Submissions

Southern Screen, an annual event that focuses on storytelling, is now accepting film submissions for the 2020 festival in Lafayette, Louisiana, November 12-15.

Southern Screen is a non-competitive festival offering a platform for creative expression and exchange. Aside from films, the festival offers music, live podcast, educational programming, and of course, Southern hospitality.

Southern Screen accepts narrative features, documentaries, short films, animations, music videos, web-series, TV pilots, student films, and more. Submissions opened online on March 15th.  The fee for submitting a film less than 40 minutes is $20, and $30 for films more than 40 minutes until April 15, then fees go up till June 15. The final deadline to submit films is July 15. Discounts for students.

2020 marks the tenth year of the festival. Southern Screen Festival has welcomed industry professionals, such as actress Alison Becker (Parks and Recreation); producer Monty Ross (Malcom X); Ben Dickey (Blaze); John Veiner (Family Guy), Eamonn Bowles (Magnolia Pictures), and Javier Marcheselli (Blade Runner 2049).
