July 7, 2018. Chez Hope Poboy Lunch Fundraiser.  Sausage poboy, chips and drink.  $8.  11am – 1pm.  St. Martin Sheriff’s Training Academy, Terrace Rd., Deliveries available for 10 or more tickets.  Contact Dawn Theriot at 337-577-1136 or dawn.chezhope@gmail.com.  Proceeds benefit Chez Hope Family Violence Crisis Center in St. Martin Parish. 

July 27, 2018.   Chez Hope 2nd Annual Trivia Night Fundraiser:  Louisiana Summer Nights.  Food, music, door prizes, 50/50 Raffle, Live & Silent Auctions to benefit Chez Hope’s project to establish a shelter for domestic violence survivors.  Doors open at 5pm.  Trivia begins at 6pm.  Cade Community Center, 1688 Smede Hwy, Teams of 6 – $150.   $500 cash prize.  Contact Dawn (St. Martin) at 337-577-1136 or atchezhopestmartin2@cox.net or Sharon at 337-339-5544 or at chezhopecommunity@cox.net.

July 28,  2018 Day of Remembrance.  In commemoration of the wrongs committed in the name of the Crown against the Acadians (national Canadian holiday).  Genealogy workshop at 10am welcomes Gregory Wood, author of The Acadians in Maryland at the St. Martinville Branch Library.   At 3pm, Greg will be inducted into the Acadian Museum’s Order of Living Legends, followed by a reception. July 28, 2018.  Kiwanis Club Pepper Festival Extravaganza.   Annual gala fundraiser to support the Pepper Festival, including food and drinks, entertainment (beauty tips from Catherine and Glenn), unveiling of Festival poster, presentation of Pepper Queens, and Hall of Fame inductee.   6pm – Social Hour; 7pm – Festivities.  WOW Building, 1255 Capritto-Forty Arpent Road, Contact Brad Horton at 337-577-7726 for tickets, $35 per person or $280 for a table of 8.
