Stories on the Bayou Storytelling Festival – 2019 Traditions and Tales on Saturday, May 11, 2019 from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at Longfellow Evangeline State Historic Site in St. Martinville.
Music, storytelling and reading, puppets, historical toys and games and a student art exhibit are among the highlights.
Holy Family Catholic School choir performs at 9:30am, followed by African drumming with Herb Green of Lafayette.
Story telling begins with Sylvia Davis of Alexandria at 10:30am, with story time with Author Denise Gallagher of Lafayette following.
Brazos Huval School of Music students from Breaux Bridge crank up some Cajun music at 11am. Longfellow-Evangeline staff brings out their historical toys and games at 11:30am.
St. Martinville Jr. High Glee Club bring the song and dance at 12:30pm.
Angela Davis of New Orleans does story time at 1pm, followed by a puppet show by Zachary Robertson of St. Martinville. At 2:30pm, you can view the art work of students from St. Bernard Catholic School in Breaux Bridge.
