On Friday, May 12, there will be a reception for a student exhibit. The show presents artworks by youth of The Talented Arts Program of St. Landry Parish.
The Talented Arts Program is an educational curriculum for students identified as talented in visual arts and enrolled in the St. Landry Parish Public School System. It is available at every public school in grades 1st through 6th.
The exhibit will include original paintings, sculpture, drawings, photos and collages by approximately 65 students. The art show was coordinated by Jerome Ford and Heather Wallace who are educators for the St. Landry Parish Talented Arts Program. The reception is hosted by the Opelousas Museum and Interpretive Center; Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor will present awards for each student.
