The Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce is now accepting submissions for the 31st Annual World Championship Gumbo Cookoff Poster Contest.

The artist behind the winning design will receive $500 and be featured in local media. Submissions are due at the chamber office (111 W. Main St.) by Wednesday, June 30, at 4 p.m.

“One of the most exciting parts of planning the World Championship Gumbo Cookoff is seeing which poster design is chosen to represent each year’s event,” said Avery Grubb, chamber PR and marketing director. “Be a part of this artistic tradition, showcase your work, and submit your design today!”

The World Championship Gumbo Cookoff, also known as the “Superbowl of Gumbo,” is a free two-day event that takes place every second weekend in October in New Iberia. Every year, dozens of cooking teams and thousands of gumbo enthusiasts take over Bouligny Plaza to see who will take home trophies for each category, and earn ultimate bragging rights.
