The annual downtown Zydeco Breakfast will take place Saturday August 31st, the Saturday of Labor Day weekend from 9am-11am in conjunction with the Original Southwest Louisiana Zydeco Music Festival which returns this year to the Yambilee Building in Opelousas. Held under the beautiful oak trees surrounding the Courthouse Square, local downtown eateries will feature an assortment of breakfast menu items for sale, from coffee and pastries to breakfast casseroles and specialty dishes. With live zydeco music, it’s the perfect start to the Zydeco Music Festival experience.
A parade organized by the Original Southwest Zydeco Festival will also roll down Landry Street during the breakfast event. The parade begins at 10am at the eastern entrance of the city on Wallior and Landry Streets.
